Advanced Game Schedules
The League will post a schedule several weeks in advance. We anticipate scheduling games for approximately 10-12 weeks in advance.
Summary of League Rules and Procedures
All teams must be at the field they are scheduled to play no later than one half hour before the match is to begin. If you are the first match and goals need to be assembled at the field you are playing at, you are required to show up 45 minutes prior to the match for goal setup. This allows the referees to check players in, collect their fees and commence the match on time and to avoid delayed game starts. This also helps save time if you are the first team to play, so that you may have additional time to set-up the goals, as discussed in item 4 below.
The League grace period is 20 minutes if there are not 7 players present. If 7 players are present, the grace period is over and teams are required to check in, pay the referee and be ready to play. If after 2 minutes of having 7 players, a team refuses to pay the referees and take the field, the game will be considered a forfeit. Teams that forfeit a game will be required to pay both teams referee fees and pay a $100 fine. If a team forfeits prior to Wednesday and the referee assignor can be notified the forfeiting team will be responsible for the field use fee only.
Team managers are responsible for completing in full the game sheet for their team. Only SDCSL game sheets are to be used. Teams using other forms or hand made forms will be fined $100. Club teams using borrowed players are to indicate the players on the A or B line of the game sheet and indicated full name and club team name. Only 18 players are eligible to play in any game. Players not present and on the game sheet, should be lined through prior to giving the game sheet to the referee.
All managers are responsible for using the correct sized goal posts and crossbars. At Robb Field, the Adult goals should have blue paint on them. Do no use the crossbars or triangle with red paint. These are junior goals.
At Robb Field #1, the big white goals from the Storage cage are to be used.
If your team is the first team to play on the league designated field for any given Sunday, your team is required to set-up goals to the satisfaction of the referees. If your team is the last team to play on the field, your team is required to disassemble the goals(at Robb Field Only), place the goal frames in their proper location and take the goal nets and flags to the SDCSL shed by the basketball court.
At Jr Seau Field in La Mesa, please take the nets off the goals and leave for Misha to pick up with the flags all together in the corner of the field by the parking lot. The goals are to be moved back to the South Fence.
At Hoover High School, there is nothing for you to do.
Check the schedule to confirm if your team is playing first or last on the field. Sometimes the last game may be at 11am or 1pm. Failure to set your goal up is justification for a forfeit. Failure to disassemble and place the goals in the proper location will cause a fine of $100 to be assessed against any violating team. DO NOT TAKE ANY NETS OR FLAGS HOME WITH YOU.
As discussed at the Annual Organizational Meeting, each team manager, regardless if your team is the home or visiting team, must report the score to the league by email (sdcsl@sdcsl.com).
All teams must clean up after their own mess. Further, no glass is allowed at any fields and absolutely no alcohol is permitted at any school field. Violators of this rule will be fined $100.00.
All home teams are responsible for producing alternate jerseys if there is a conflict between teams. Also, home teams must provide at least one match ball. It is recommended however, that both teams have a quality match ball at each game.
All teams must use the league official game reports. Failure to do so may result in the league forfeiting your match and fining your team $50. Pick up game sheets at the Manager meeting or by contacting Gerhard..
All players must present official player cards when playing. Only official player cards will be accepted by the referees this season. There will be no temporary player cards issued, nor will drivers licenses or other forms of identification be accepted. If a player does not have a care, he does not play. There are no exceptions to this rule.
A Forfeited game for whatever reason in League Play shall be a 1-0 win with three points awarded to the winning team. In Tournament games where there is group play (i.e., Kennedy Cup and Columbus Cup) a forfeited game shall be a 3-0 win with three points awarded to the winning team.
All team managers should check the league web page on Friday to confirm your team's game time and location. Changes may occur and if we cannot contact you the changes will be on the web page by the Friday preceding the match. Also, changes may occur due to poor weather or field availability. Changes will be left on the web page.
